Psalm 31:16-18

¹⁶ My life is in your hands;^[a]
    deliver me from the power of my enemies,
    from the clutches of those who pursue me.
¹⁷ Let your face shine^[b] upon your servant;
    save me in your kindness.
^18 [c]Do not let me be put to shame, O Lord,
    for I have cried out to you.
Let the wicked be put to shame
    and lie silent in the netherworld.
